Free and Affordable Parking in Uppsala

Uppsala has a plenty of on-street parking, with paid spaces concentrated in the inner city and more affordable parking available as you move outward. Parking fees apply Monday-Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m., with pricing based on zones A-E, where zone A is the most expensive and zone E the least. From 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., the fee drops to SEK 5 per hour, and from midnight to 8:00 a.m. parking is free of charge.

In the central areas around Uppsala Centrum, the cathedral and the main station, you’ll find paid parking in zones A-B and the parking areas are fairly scarce. Outside the core, in such areas as Luthagen, Svartbäcken, Kvarngärdet, Gränby and surrounding residential areas, lower-priced zones make low-cost street parking common. If you’re looking for free parking, nights and Sundays are usually the way to go.
