Long-Term Parking: Find Parking For Up to 30 Days With Parkopilot

Finding parking in Sweden that allows you to stay longer than 24 hours can feel almost impossible. The “24-hour rule” is standard in many cities, and most parking apps only highlight short-term or paid options. This is exactly why we built Parkopilot. With Parkopilot, you can now filter parking up to 30 days, giving you a realistic overview of where long-term parking is actually allowed.

Read until the end – there are important seasonal limitations that can impact the availability of long-term parking spots during parts of the year.

Where Can You Find Long-Term Parking in Sweden

Long-term parking is fairly common across Sweden. Many towns and suburban areas offer both free and paid parking that allows several days’ stay. Parkopilot includes long-term parking locations in:

Stockholm (in the outer suburbs – see list below)
Helsingborg
Landskrona
Kungsbacka
…plus many smaller towns.

Often, the available long-term option is closer to you than you think – just fire up the app and filter for the duration you need.

Stockholm – Best Areas for Free Long-Term Parking

In Stockholm, free long-term parking locations – up to 7 days – are outside the city center. For a full overview of all free-parking zones, check out our free parking in Stockholm guide. Long-term parking is most commonly found in:

Råcksta (Vällingby)
Grimsta
Hässelby
Nockeby (Bromma)
Danderyd
Stocksund
Hägersten
Högdalen
Rågsved
Farsta

If you need to leave your car for several days – especially with no fees – start your search in these areas and apply Parkopilot’s long-term filter.

Arlanda Airport – Is There Free Long-Term Parking

Perhaps, the most common question we see is:
“Is there free long-term parking near Arlanda?”

The short answer: unfortunately, no. There are no reliable free long-term parking spots close to Arlanda Airport.

Official and commercial airport parking is paid. If you’re flexible with distance, Parkopilot can help you locate longer-stay free spots worth considering.

Important Notes

Parkopilot checks rules only for the period you select. For example, if you filter for 2-day parking, do not assume there are no restrictions after those 2 days, even if the app states that parking is generally allowed for up to 7 days.
When filtering, the app still enforces other rules, such as temporary parking prohibitions. During winter, fewer long-term parking spots are shown because many streets have weekly cleaning restrictions.
